Furtwangen show and 'Wecker-Peter'

This year the weekend of 29th to 30th August will see the 25th annualFurtwangen Clock Fair, the largest clock fair in Europe.
After cleaning or repairing a clock movement it is important to test it before re-fitting it into its case. It can be difficult at times to securely mount the movement so it can be inspected and adjusted if necessary.
Clockspares of Dereham market a hanging wooden test stand that is suitable for most types of mantel clock movement. The stand can be attached to the wall, as shown in the photograph, or screwed to a portable stand. The stand can accommodate movements with square or round plates, with or without the dial fitted in place.
