Gibson & Baume master
The master clock illustrated by Tony Rodgers (Clocks Magazine, May 2006) is identical to a clock in my collection except that my clock is labelled ‘Magneta Time Company Limited Goblinworks Leatherhead, a division of the British Vacuum Cleaner and Engineering Co. Ltd. Trade Mark B.V.C. Model 37 Serial 9337 Volts 20’.
There is no doubt in my mind that the mechanical and electrical components, the case and the electrically impulsed dial, all come from the same source as that of Tony’s clock.
I hope this information can be of use to trace the origin and date of Tony’s clock, but I fear that it might only add a great deal of confusion!
