Make a handy tripod

As an amateur clock enthusiast, I like to try to save a few pounds where I can. A couple of months ago I decided to clear out a few cupboards and drawers in my workshop. Whilst doing so I came across a box of various electrical bits and pieces, amongst which were a dozen or so 13 amp plugs.

As electrical appliances come with plugs attached I decided to throw most of them away but before doing so I took them apart to save the fuses. It was then, with one of the earth terminals in my hand, that I though a tripod for holding clock movements could be simply made with two saw cuts and a bit of filing (see sketch). It worked very well.
