Rubber band remedy

I have just completed the overhaul of a 30-hour clock where making the correct pin-wheel to hoop-wheel location was proving impossible (yes, the pivots and holes were in good condition) and in desperation, and not too happy to try the sticky tape or Blu-tak remedy, I thought of a small rubber band around the small arbor projections of the offending wheels, the band being just strong enough to hold them together. If the band is too loose tie a knot in it. This works every time and a quick snip with scissors or a knife makes removal of the rubber band simple.
